Thank
you, All that is God, for the healing and love
I am receiving this moment, this day.
Like the ocean returning to the dunes
at full-moon's tide,
my energy returns to every cell of my body;
Like full moon's peaceful light,
I return to my Divine reflection.
Shining forth in paths of light
across the waters of now,
I am peace, light, joy and balance.
Thank you, Light-in-All. Amen

Asked by a Dying Friend,
In memory of Frederica Bishop
"Where will all the paintings go,
the ones I see in my mind
that I'll never paint?"
Where, you ask?
To other artists,
to your students,
inspiration for their talents,
to an unborn artist
or a toddler with her first finger paints,
to a dehydrated artist
with arthritic hands,
that paints may flow again.
How will they go, you ask?
As a whisper
to ones
who await
the gentle breath
to open their feathers.

Enlightenment
I am busy now
in the car
at the desk
doing the list
of course
Where’s the time
for spiritual enlightenment
prayers, practices and Presence?
In the errand
the practice lies disguised
A turn of thought
Intention
Connection
My soul meets sales clerk
her soul responds |
Computer, desk and
folders,
spiritual practices of
love in paperwork
light in bill paying
peace in breathing
How?
We are the how
in
the
process
of
Enlightenment

Ice
Storm's Challenge
Fear
Ice encasing living branches
weighing, straining
testing tree-vitality.
Vulnerability remembered.
Fear
Nuclear weapons, troops landing,
Challenger crashing,
Hospitals failing,
Insurance refusing.
Vulnerability activated.
Fear
Fight? Flight? Numbness?
Ice encasing clarity,
inviting ingenuity,
testing faith-vitality,
Vulnerability re-examined.
Truth
Solar-power melts ice,
Oneness-power.
Human God-power
melts fear.
Emergencies
are
practice
Being
the Sun.

Life
on the Edge
Beaver-hewn tree,
a knee-high trunk,
by
wave-lapped lake
stands,
a love-letter to life,
sprouting new greenery
from base
to pointed top.
No victim,
this shortened sycamore
presents its leaves
in stubborn refusal
to quit —
Escalated overnight
into a new mission
by life’s sharp teeth.
